Associate Technical Support Specialist Summary This position is the senior level in the internship for all IT career paths. Incumbents in this position will work as part of a project team to provide software and/ or hardware support while developing the skills to move into one of 6 career paths, Technical Engineering, Technical Architecture, Software Engineering, Program Management, Software Quality Assurance, or Business Solutions. The incumbent has general knowledge and experience in Information Technology and supports the overall IT functions of the Company. General Job Duties Under guidance, participate as part of project team to provide technical support, resolve issues and plan for assigned IT functions. Provide customer facing support service to internal colleagues Continuously expand knowledge in one of the 6 career paths and apply it to software development, software quality assurance, program management, system engineering architecture and understanding and developing business solutions. Identify and recommend opportunities to improve and enhance communication services to internal and external customers. Specific Job Duties Provide user support both face-to-face and over the telephone/ Chat. Undertake build and support of client based technology including network printing. Provide Remote Support to other offices, where required Liaise effectively with staff and utilize the call tracking system for recording, management and tracking of all IT issues. Communicate with users and management on support issues where necessary. Ensure IT policies are enforced and IT Standards followed. Assist other IT teams, acting as the local hands and eyes in resolving IT technical issues. Liaising with local hardware and service suppliers. Occasional travel to regional offices to provide onsite support when required. This position will require to work on night shifts with a potential for extended coverage Education/ Experience Requirements Bachelors in Computer Science, related field or equivalent experience. Minimum of 6-8 years experience in a Technical Support Environment on big organization which are having large Numbers of Employee strength. Excellent verbal and written communication skills Excellent customer service skills Must be able to effectively communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical personnel. Experience with Dell and HP Laptops and desktops. Excellent understanding of Microsoft Windows Client OS in a networked environment. Good understanding of Networking including TCP/ IP and Cisco Switches and VOIP Phones Strong understanding of Asset Management. Strong understanding of Microsoft outlook client configuration. Experience in SCCM to include system imaging and remote support. Familiarity with Incident management system General understanding of commonly used IT technologies including Applications, Programming Languages, Databases, Server Technologies, etc. is required. Analytical and problem-solving skills. Must be able to work effectively as part of a project team, foster team cooperation. General Understanding of the project management process. Stays current with rapidly changing technology and applies it to business needs. Working towards professional certification as warranted. At times, reports directly to senior management. Communicates with departmental and business unit personnel throughout the organization to facilitate planning and implementation of technology services. Interacts with other employees at all levels in the conduct of day-to-day activities. May be required to interact with external customers.
